From the very first project – German satellite AZUR (1964) and up to now, continuous development is the key to success of AZUR SPACE Solar Power in the very challenging global space market. Our multi-junction space solar cells offer highest efficiencies, low weight and a proprietary design to withstand the harsh particle irradiation in space. Our primary products include bare solar cells (cells) and solar cell assemblies (SCAs / CICs) from our 3G30-Advanced and 4G32-Advanced technology families. We offer an array of standard cells/ assemblies in both technologies across a range of sizes and configurations for various applications.
AZUR SPACE’s 3G30-Advanced solar cell and solar cell assemblies (CIC/SCA) are the ideal solution for space power applications in conventional or in New Space segments. The award-winning 3G30-Advanced offers best-in-class EOL performance at lowest Cost-per-Watt, enabling a multitude of options in all orbits and missions. This cell type is available on 100 mm or 150 mm substrate and provides 30% class efficiency. It includes AZUR SPACE’s proprietary radiation-hardened design for best EOL performance.
AZUR SPACE’s 4G32 solar cell and solar cell assemblies (CIC / SCA) are the ideal solution for space power applications to reach highest power levels on small areas and at low weight. This device offers best-in-class BOL and EOL performances and exceptionally high voltage, enabling a multitude of options and missions. This cell type is available on 100 mm or 150 mm substrate and provides 32% class efficiency. It includes AZUR SPACE’s proprietary radiation-hardened design for best EOL performance.
AZUR SPACE’s 3G30 and 4G32 solar cells are also available as fully SMT (surface mount technology) compatible devices collaboration with our solar array partner.. All electrical contacts of an assembly are accessible from the rear side of the device, making high-throughput automated lay-down and handling equipment applicable.
Our standard configuration data sheets include both the bare solar cell and the solar cell assembly utilizing that same bare cell. Relevant background, mechanical data as well as performance variables are provided in each data sheet uniquely for that device configuration. Of course, custom applications are available, but these standard products have been shown to cover the range of needs across orbits, missions and environments of space.
